Doctorly: My working style
Design:
My design process begins with analyzing the problem and identifying gaps in my knowledge. I then create an architecture to guide the design.
At Doctorly, we used a collaborative design process with twice-weekly design critiques to get feedback and discuss different perspectives.
We had a component library to create beautiful designs quickly and efficiently. Everything was discussed before shipping designs to developers.
Prototypes of designs were presented to stakeholders for feedback and to track progress.
The final step was to organize the designs in a clear and easy-to-understand manner for handover.
Research:
My research process at Doctorly was tailored to the project, considering urgency, time constraints, and available information.
I started by gathering information about the problem and user requests. I analyzed the problem and asked questions to stakeholders, such as customer service, designers, and developers.
If necessary, I also researched competitors and recorded my findings.
Ultimately, the research process began with thoroughly understanding the problem and the user, their needs, and thier difficulties.
Collaboration:
The design process was a collaborative journey emphasizing the value of teamwork.
As a product designer on a cross-functional team, collaborated closely with a team lead, product manager, and developers.
Recognized the significance of teamwork in achieving optimal design outcomes and user experiences.
Conducted weekly design critiques to maintain team involvement in design decisions.
Regular meetings included refinements, warm-ups, cool-downs, plannings, and monthly design meetings to facilitate effective collaboration.
